Magnetic contactless incremental linear encoder. Consists of a compact readhead and a magnetic scale with magnetic poles applied in 2 mm increments. The scale is made in the form of a self-adhesive tape. The length is up to 100 meters.

The readhead electronics interpolate the signals from the Hall effect sensors to provide the required resolution. The IP68-rated readhead is resistant to mechanical shock, vibration and pressure. The magnetic scale comes complete with protective foil.

When working, the readhead moves without contact with the scale at a distance of 0.5-1.3 mm. The readhead has a two-color LED to indicate operation and display magnetic scale reading errors.

If it is needed to generate reference mark signals, reference marks (LM10SRM) can be placed on the scale using the LM10ARM applicator tool. The ends of the magnetic scale can be fixed by using a set of clamping parts (LM10ECL).

To simplify the scale’s installation or to additionally protect it from mechanical stress and the ingress of oil and coolant, we offer an aluminum protective profile LIR-MI3.301 that can also serve as a substrate, i.e. base for the scale.

We offer a standard and the most popular version of the readhead with a supply voltage of 5V and an SP-TTL output with a resolution of 1 to 50 microns. Other versions of the readhead and magnetic tapes, including those with a special mounting profile, are described in the manufacturer's specifications and are available for order.

LM10 is intended for use in textile and food industries, on wood and stone processing equipment, industrial presses, packaging and other equipment. When installing on metal-cutting machines (provided that the scale accuracy corresponds to the tolerances of the mechanically processed parts), it has to be kept in mind that metal shavings will accumulate on the surface of the magnetic scale, which can damage the protective foil and the scale itself during further work. We would also like to draw your attention to the fact that a strong magnetic field in the immediate vicinity of the scale can irreversibly damage it.
